hmmmmm.. went to watch x-men last night. it was ok lah.. not really what i had expected it to be. i mean, scott died after 2 minutes? and charles xavier died after 10? there wasnt much character and plot development. just action, action and more action. ooh.. jean grey was scarrrry. ahahahaha. archangel didnt even have any conversation with the other x-men besides the part where he wanted a room. geez. but he has abs.. ahahaha. rogue looked so old lah. omg. ahaha. and then the last part where magneto moved the chess piece, there has to be an x-men 4, i mean, they cant leave it like that. especially after the absolutely last part, after the credits rolled. ahahaha. EVERYONE ELSE WHO HASNT WATCHED IT AND IS GOING TO WATCH IT, MAKE SURE YOU STAY UNITL AFTER THE CREDITS. haha. and i'm sorry i kinda told what happened already. hehh. i didnt get a postcard!! rawwrrrr!

Sure, the X-Men movies are full of kick ass action and special effects. But what separates them from the usual crop of bandwagon comic book movies is the political subtext. X-Men: The Last Stand has the deepest metaphor yet and fully explores the ensemble cast's reactions to it.

X-Men: The Last Stand deals with Jean Grey returning from the dead. Professor Xavier reveals that she's always had this Phoenix persona, which he taught her to control, but now it seems like Phoenix is the dominant, nay the only personality left. She kills some popular characters and becomes a tool of Magneto in his revolution.

Magneto is responding to the government's introduction of a cure for mutations. While the good X-Men are quietly debating the moral and political issues, he leads his brotherhood in a full on attack against the government.

Talk about getting into the characters, the opening prologue lets us see Patrick Stewart walking as young Xavier. The introduction to young Angel trying to clip his wings in the bathroom while his father bangs on the door is an all too familiar metaphor for young boys. We're experiencing life moments here. Everyone has them, even mutant superheroes.

But our favorites are still here and some get even juicier parts. Finally, Storm gets equal weight to Wolverine, as the voice of sound thought to his animal instinct. Wolvie is still a badass, walking through a battleground like it's nothing. Magneto is the most sympathetic and respectful villain I can think of. Showing civility before the inevitable battle is a true class act.

The use of language is brilliant. Talk of slave names hits the metaphor while giving it a practical application. "Homo sapien" is an insult. The puns fly with lines like "You're quite an animal" and "You know how fast the weather can change," speaking to both character's powers and their reactions to world events. However, the best is a mournful eulogy on a cured mutant.

Visually, The Last Stand revels in character poses like glorious Angel or the balletic arm flailing of Magneto. Everyone gets a chance to look cool.

It's a hotter, more passionate X-Men with no less than four sexual relationships. Jean Grey and Cyclops, Jean Grey and Wolverine, Mystique and Magneto (more mature, but still) and Rogue and Iceman. In addition to some face sucking and heavy petty, there are loving shots of Famke Janssen's long legs and Rebecca Romijn's blue ass.

X-Men: The Last Stand captures all of the political, social and character interests of the series at its greatest. The action and special effects are there to match, but it is the film's heart that makes it kick the most ass.

see the ginormous difference between the two perspectives? i'm so damn mature mann.. -.- ah sigh, my attepmt at finding a nice picture failed. boo.

anyway, he finished teaching evermore. haha. now its all going to be polishing, polishing and more polishing. ahaha. i think the guy's part is so much easier than the rest now. ahahaa. cos all we do is this short jumping part. then wait for everyone to finish rolling around and do their kicks before we join them for the last part. and we get to do free for like a few counts while they roll around some more around us. aahaha. xD

anway, today had the last enrichment for the term. wah lao, i think it was kinda waste of time, cos i was so superly bored and sian. they should have just let us stay home. sigh. i would much rather have math and cs today. haha. but at least we got to skip hsien fa's.

ooh, but me and nat were acting retarded. aaah. then instead of making it seem like conversational skills, it was like oral presentation lah! and we had to each do an indv talk thing. HE MADE ME TALK ABOUT ~~BOYFRIENDS~~ !!! sighness... -.- didnt do alot anywayz.

oh shit, speaking of hsien fa, he continued teaching the evermore steps lah. and all the sec 2's didnt go. now i dunno where/what i'm doing. arrrgh. not to mention i'm already having problems with my other steps. i completely forgot all the steps!! rawrr

cant believe its like the june hols already. you know what, after reading my past posts, i realised that most of them have no depth, no nothing. and even when i describe an event, i actually miss out like 80% of it, but i'm just too lazy to edit it, and i forget after a while, only to realise it again later on. shallow me.

today was nice. hahaha. i was moody in the morning. post moodiness from the night before, which was so pissifying. god. hmmm. had the pet rocket thing. hahaha. our rocket just refused to fly straight. sighness. hahaha. the class got 4 bottles in the target!whooo! go us! so that took up most of the day. hahaha. did chinese talent time afterwards, and krix tried to teach me how to draw her oh-so-adorable people.

I L-O-V-E my part!! hahaahah. being a guy's not so bad. hahaha. the jumps are so nice and cool. except the cartwheel. omgoodness. and that heather ah!! she laughed like siao!! cos i cant do one on the left, and i bet i looked horrible. sucks lah. sheesh. hahaha. i like the part with maria and janice the best. JUMPS ROCK!! so do pirouettes. evermore is so damn tiring though. sigh. must get fit!!

O.o speaking of pirouettes, could do not proper triples yesterday. so wonderfully wonderful.

ok, so. enrichment stuff started like last week. went to the NEWater plant on thursday. was ok lah, the pei chun pri kis were damn farnie lah, and kinda irritating? Friday was normal.

OPEN HOUSE!! hahahaha. had class, which killed all of us, and drove away all our visitors.=[ ran around the place. ahaha. and spent 20 bucks! omgoodness. screwed sylphides, and i have a blister from pointe. boo. should have gone to watch the handbells, cos then would have been able to tease yc and krix. wahahahha. too bad didnt make it. *shrugs*

O.o went to queensway shopping centre that night. bought fbt's and a pair of dark wash jeans and the bottoms i most probably would be wearing for jumpin east. yay! too bad didnt get to buy my adidas sneakers. sigh.

yesterday, nothing much really happened, but i choinged like so much work! and i'm so proud of myself!! XD may says the newspaper's nice! i sure hope so! hahahaha. *grins*

today rocked mann!! whoo! 'cept my stress/moody streak which lasted like 3 hours? heh. ahahaha. partnered krix for the heritage tour thingy. ahahaaha. we don't have retardedness stamina, which sucks. hahaha. i like the way we answered our worksheets. hahaha. then we totally freaked cos we thought they said had to pass up the worksheets! omg. hahaha. I LURRVED THE TUNNELS!! hahahaha. and i was kinda dumb to volunteer for some flag bearer thing. cos i was damn hyper in the beginning. then i was so tired by the time the memorial service came up. oh wellz. hahaha. it kinda rocked.

friday. went to nicole's house for a lord of the rings movie marathon. haha. lord of the rings rock mann!! whooo!! and i managed to convince nicole to lend me the soundtracks for all 3 movies!! yayye!! hahaha. and played playstation. lolx. spent like 6 hours there.

yesterday, went to roxanned's house. then went to american club for dinner. played pool and air hockey and the arcade and ping pong. hahahha. I'M IN LOVE WITH POOL!!! whooooooooooooooo~~ ahahaha. yupps.

oh, let me tell you some news.

the bad news is: i fit into my concerto allegro costume. that means i didnt grow!!

anyway, let me talk about wednesday, since today and yesterday was kinda boring. expcept for the fact that i screwed my chinese and today was the last mrs chan dance. boo. =(

so on wednesday, my dad picked me up and we drove down to the gas station, and i bought a hershey's bar. wheee. ate it at 9 at night, and went high half an hour later. as heather said, its such a waste of highness. ahahaha. and nat kept making me laugh on msgr. ahahahha.

and so, i have realised how much my life rocks. wheeee!! seriously. ok fine, but you'll have to take away math lessons, chinese tuitions, tests and homework and some classes to REALLY see it. cos you see, there's always my cool 1sy'05 peeps, my retarded 2sydians'06, recess, the 5-10 min in between classes, break and dance and the occasional outings where all the highness comes from, and the spastic incidents originate. yupps. so you can't actually blame me for being lame, now can you? jeannette and heather say i'm a weirdo, and they agree that i'm full of rubbish. and i apparently remind heather of her. ahahaha. good thing ok. my april ward (aka nat) is spastic. my april angel aka cheryl lim is so damn bloody nice and smart. and my current angel is spoiling me rotten. hmmmm.. let me talk about saturday!! wheeee. and i shall try and write in pargraphs, just as heather wants me to. hahaha. met cheryl and jecolia outside the ever so big esprit at raffles city. we couldnt find anything in there, and decided to go upstairs. found a present for both krix and debz. yay. haha. then heather, eryn and danielle showed up. haha. followed heather and eryn around cos they needed to find their skirts. ahaha.

i realised how short my op skirt was. hahaha. but i think its nice. lolx. we walked arnd at city link, and still couldnt find anything. heather and eryn were complaining about how their shoes were giving them blisters. lolx. hahaha. chased heather to go and buy band-aids at guardian. yuppps. they still couldnt find anything, and we went to prints. oooh, but we saw loads of interesting stuffs along the way, but didnt buy anything. jeannette finally found us at prints. haha. poor jeannette was following us all over the place cos we just couldnt stay put. lolx. oooh!! urbanmale(?) had really cool shirts. but they were like 40 bucks each? boo. hahaha.

went to suntec and we walked all over the place just to find sakae. haha. we found starbucks and they couldnt decide whether to eat at starbucks or sakae. haha. then we had to cross over to some other building to get to sakae. haha. SUSHII!!! WHEEEEE~~ hahaha. had soba and soft shell crab and cucumber sushi. lolx. then i kept malu-ing myself. hahaha. and they kept laughing at me. some friends i have. lolx. jkjk. and i thought that tongs were tonsils and stuff. haha. then heather and danielle and cheryl wanted sashimi. lolx. they ended up having one plate each. -.- hahahaha.

ooh. i had ben and jerry's ice-cream!! wheee. eryn bought some nice mango tea thing from coffee bean. hahaha. and we took a cab to the concert hall. we didnt noe where it was!! and the uncle didnt noe either!!hahaha. kept looking out for the other taxi, but couldnt find them. hahaha. found the place. lolx. met the bballers and took pictures before going up. yupps. haha.

choir concert rocked!!! the primary school kids were so cute!! i forgot how good they were. hehh. i didnt really get the musical though. hahaha. i'm such a shallow person. oh wellz. hahha.
